The ladies totally rocked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Here are my top picks for the SAG Awards :)
First up is Diane Lane in David Meister. The blue color looked absolutely stunning against her skin tone.
Ashlee Simpson is by far one of my absolute favorites for the night in a Jenny Packham dress. She opted for a retro glam look and pulled it off miraculously.
Rose Byrne took a huge fashion risk by wearing a jumpsuit by Ellie Saab. Unfortunately, you can't really see the gorgeous detail (the draping and sequins) in this picture, but in real life/on tv, the ensemble is stunning.
Viola Davis was absolutely glowing in this somewhat Grecian style Marchesa dress. Her hair was perfect, her skin was shining and the dress fit her perfectly.
Julie Bowen looked absolutely flawless in this purpleTemperley gown. It was simple and elegant and the color complimented her skin tone perfectly.
Zoe Saldana was completely flawless in Givenchy. Once again, this picture does not do the dress justice. The detail in the dress is incredible with the beading at the neckline and waistline. There was also beading at the hemline and the fabric was a gorgeous sparkling white which contrasted her skin perfectly.

SHOE ESSENTIALS!
Just like my 'CLOSET ESSENTIALS' post, these are shoes that EVERY girl should own!
Flats:
Ideally, you should have a basic pair that you can throw on when you’re in a rush and at least one embellished pair whether it be with studs, sequins or a crazy pattern.
Pumps:
A simple black pump will do wonders for any outfit. Pumps give an instant sexy, but classy vibe to the most basic outfit (i.e. jeans and a t-shirt).
Peep-toe:
These shoes are a bit more feminine since they are a bit more revealing than a pump. Because of the added femininity factor, look for pairs that are in more delicate colors like light pinks, tans, or ivories.
Embellished:
Remember that Little Black Dress we were talking about earlier? Pair it with a pair of embellished heels (keep in mind Embellished can mean sequins, feathers, or even a funky bright color- anything that gives a basic item a little extra ‘oomph’) and you will be ready to go!
Gladiator:
This style adds a bit of toughness to an outfit. Be careful though, because this can be one of the most painful styles on your ankles.
Boots:
Personally, I think this is THE must have shoe for every girl. A good boot can last for a few years, so be sure to pick one that is timeless- like a suede black boot, or a light tan boot with a heel.
CLOSET ESSENTIALS!
Lately, I've been noticing that some clothes never go out of style. Most girls, however, always try to stay up with the 'latest trends' and end up having a closet full of clothes that are tacky. So, to help with this problem, I've compiled a list of items that EVERY girl should have in her closet. NO EXCUSES! These items can be worn time and time again, so really, you're getting the most bang for your buck :)
Little Black Dress:
After almost a century of Coco Chanel’s introduction of the LBD, the dress is as strong as ever. The little black dress can be worn with tights, sweaters, boots, heels…the versatility of the outfit is endless.
Jeans:
Even though you can’t wear jeans everywhere (i.e. prom or a black tie event!), you CAN, however, wear them just about everywhere else. Making jeans an essential for every closet.
Collared button downs:
Sure, button downs are great for the office, but wear them with a pair of cutoffs in the summertime for a laid back look, or wear it under a sweater for an ultra-preppy look.
Skirt:
No, not mini skirt or denim skirt. I’m talking a simple black skirt with a bit of movement. This style allows the flexibility of being causal or a bit more dressy (totally depending on the shirt/shoes you wear). For example- pair it with flats and a t-shirt for a casual look, or pair it with a nice blouse and heels for a more dressy look.
White and black tops:
Long sleeve, short sleeve, tank top, chiffon, cotton, embellished, basic…whatever! Try to stock up on black and white tops whenever you can because you can pair them with literally anything. Trust me, when you’re in an outfit rut, you’ll be thankful you have white and black tops.
Blazer:
Ideally you should have two styles of blazers- a shrunken one that pairs great with skinny jeans; and a boyfriend blazer that can be worn with a cute dress.
Coat:
I think every girl needs at least one great looking (and fitting!) peacoat. They are timeless and elegent. They also come in a variety of fun colors. Once you have the peacoat, feel free to go for something that’s got a bit of your own personality in it- whether it’s a bow, has military style button-tabs or is just in a really fun pattern. A coat can be thrown over any outfit and not only keep you warm, but fashionable as well!
